My first ever puzzle so any tips for improvement welcome!

Making the puzzles logically solvable with one unique solution like this one is the main key. Good start :)

The more puzzles you solve, the more you'll get familiar with what kinds of things you think are fun and not as fun from a solver point of view, then you will figure out what things to include or avoid in future puzzles

Also, don't let the quality ratings bug you, as 3 stars is the average so not many puzzles earn a 5.

This is a very nice first puzzle. I see you have solved over 100 puzzles on this site, so you should have a good idea what makes a good puzzle, I found Jan's "How To" instructions that appears when you go to Create Puzzle to be very helpful and has some great tips. On the page where you create your puzzle, at the bottom of the page next to a box that says Save is a box that says Check. This is an extremely valuable tool. It will tell you if there are problems with your puzzle and when everything is OK. This keeps you from publishing puzzles with more that one solution or puzzles that will require guessing. Also, solving your own puzzle first is always a good idea.

To add to what Besmirched Tea said about quality rating. My goal in creating puzzles is for the quality to be higher than the difficulty. I'm happy that I usually achieve that. Great first puzzle.

I like it! The other house sigils would be a lot trickier (or at least, they'd have to be a lot larger). Except maybe Frey.

I think I did a few sigil puzzles but they must have been part of the great loss. Emoji sad face.
