It is Baker. The smoky wood fired oven, big mixing bowl, and rolling pin gave it away.

Oh, that's an oven! I'd already guessed Baker from the bowl and rolling pin. :)

When I read accounts of food preparation before the invention of electricity and being able to provide gas to homes for cooking and heating, I totally marvel at their ability to turn out great banquets with all the frills without the benefit of thermostats. As a small child I lived in a home that had a big old wood stove and a small gas stove. My mother learned to cook on a wood stove, and as we were a family with 5 kids, when we had company my mother would fire up that big old wood stove and make miracles happen. Of, course at that time I took it for granted and didn't really appreciate her talent.

That brick oven makes me want some wood-smoked salmon! Or a pizza. Great image, Brian. Thanks for that cool story, Norma. I never thought about it before. But then, I have little talent for baking. I prefer a stir fry in a wok on the stove.
