Puzzle Description:

Duck and cover

#1: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Jan 16, 2018

Love the pun. The illustration is great on top and weak below.

The cover is the best part of it. I cracked up when the punchline appeared. I have a feeling BlackCat may not realize it is the corner of the cover of Time magazine. The fact that you chose to use the cover of a magazine for that part of the pun was great. Very appreciated.

Mallard of the year? Loved the cover.

I can't be sure, of course, but I think BlackCat may have some kind of visual impairment because from time to time she can't make out images or they aren't clear to her. Ones that the rest of us have no problem with. I recall she had trouble seeing the tents in Brian's past tense puzzle. If she has some sort of problem, my hat is off to her because she stays with it and seems to solve puzzles on a daily basis.

You should put the answer in the comments, not the description, so we can guess
#6: Gaynor Sorrell (gesorrell) on Jan 17, 2018
Fun one! I was expecting the lower right to spell out "TAB," for duck bill.
#7: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Jan 18, 2018
Awesome cover!

"Visual impairment?" Seriously? One is able to clearly see that the lower image is a Time cover and still think the image is "weak." That's not impairment; it's artistic judgment.

I agree with BlackCat to some extent. The white space below the Time title block looks like a smudge, which detracts from and interferes with the title block itself. The white space shouldn't be entirely black, but it should be something better than just a white blob.

I wouldn't call it weak, but I *would* call it no more than average, compared to some of mootpoint's other efforts.

I like it. I figure that's Time's Person Of The Year on the cover.
#10: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Dec 18, 2021 [SPOILER]
Yep, it looks like the top of someone's head.
#11: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Dec 18, 2021
That is what I intended. Mostly I wanted to provide some additional white space so it wasn't a fill in.

I can see how it's Bernie's head, and that's with only Seventy percent-- of the top Thirty percent-- of the cover visible.
