Deb, I like your metaphor. I also love that you made this a multiracial scene. It is ten times more beautiful for that reason. Even in areas of (relatively) low prejudice, there is still too much hate amongst our fellow human beings. Some of my best friends are different from me in this way, but I don't see the color of their skin. I see the colors of their heart - their true colors.
