Oo, burn.

I'm actually super relieved that Daddy was the one being scalded, and not Paytyn. Sorry, Al. :)

Thx auntie Aurelian and auntie Kristen. I wouldn't put any of the girls in a position where they could get scalded. I get scalded all the time. There is always someone that forgets and flushes. I just aim the shower head at the wall until the toilet refills. :)

Fun solve and funny pic. Thanks Aldege!

In our house, we hang a dish towel over the taps in the kitchen as a warning not to use the taps before taking a shower.

Good idea uncle John but that doesn't help with the toilet. The rest of the kids have learned not to flush when someone is showering. Paytyn isn't quite on board yet. :)

She looks quite proud of herself! Cute story and fun puzzle, Aldege.

She's such a big girl now. Someday she will learn to flush the toilet on purpose when Daddy is in the shower :)

Sounds like you could use a bigger water heater. There are people in Colorado who have two water heaters, 'cause their houses are so big ...

Looks like people living near the east coast North America and New Brunswick Canada could be in for some very nasty weather thanks to the bomb cyclone. Keep us posted and let us know if you are OK. If you can. They are predicting power outages. Hope you have plenty of wood for the fireplace and lots of warm clothes and blankets.

It's not the size of the water heater that causes the problem. It is that the water pressure is too low for the size of the pipes, so when the toilet plushes, less of the cold water gets to the shower because most of it goes to refill the toilet. The hot water continues at the same rate, so with less cold water mixed in, the resulting temperature in the shower goes way up.
