As I recalled, the person buying it thought he was getting the Tower Bridge (which is what people would think of when they hear the name "London Bridge" unless they actually know the difference between the two. After finding out the difference, he went ahead with the deal anyhow. However, the wikipedia article says that this story is just folk culture (an old-fashioned term for "Fake News") - so, while it makes an amusing story, it just just a story.#8: Velma Warren (Shiro) on Oct 29, 2018
