Inspired by #30516 (obviously): this was my first thought as I was solving, so I wanted to maintain a similar solving experience.

Whoops! I forgot to publish this, yesterday.

Wonderful and what a great solve. After I read the description I immediately thought of Lot and sat racking my brain trying to remember his wife's name, but nothing came to mind. And no wonder. Turns out she isn't named in the Bible itself.

Anyway, it was so nice to have another of your great puzzles.

Great puzzle but i want to explain a detail. A staff (or wand or scepter) was a symbol of masculine authority. Only men with great earthly and heavenly authority, such as a head priest, a prophet or Gandalf could carry one. She should not have one.

Women didn't get to use walking sticks?

Have you never heard of artistic license, sanane?

Beautiful image. Nice use of red for the background while sulfur was raining down from the sky. You matched the tone of the event well. By the way, I love comments 3, 5, and 6! Yeah, all of my queens and empresses (characters from my stories) have scepters. Who cares what conventionality dictates?

And I thought it was a very interesting choice for subject matter. Research by Bible scholars indicates that Lot's wife was likely punished for looking back because she looked back longingly. It was direct disobedience to God's orders to not look back, but most likely, Jehovah (God's name in the Bible) gave that order because he can read hearts. If Lot's wife longed for the comforts of Sodom, Jehovah knew it and warned her, to protect her spiritually, to not look back. But in her heart, she didn't want to leave. I personally would never want to make the mistake of putting love for material comforts ahead of obedience to my God.

The red background (and size) was Sanane's choice. I just changed the character in front. :)

Maybe we should call her Sarah, or something. :)

According to uncle Wiki She is called "Ado" or "Edith" in some Jewish traditions, but is not named in the Bible.
