Puzzle Description:

Smoke eels are the unpleasant memories of the dead, gathered together until their combined will can possess and manipulate lightweight particles, like smoke and mist. Mostly harmless, until they're not.

Sounds horrible. Don't want to meet any. I could not find a reference to them. Are they from a novel? Great puzzle! What took you so long. Over 2,000 solved but first puzzle here. Unless you had some that got lost when the system wen down. Hope we see more.

I see lips and tongue. Another kind of memory.

Nice image. Does this come from folk lore, a book, or is it your own creation? Either way, it is a nice addition to the encyclopedia of mythical beings.

Good one!

They wreck havoc on my sinuses! Now I use a High Efficiency Phantasm Arrestance (HEPA) filter...better sleep, fewer nightmares :)

Unpleasant concept, but a beautiful puzzle. (funny, David)

It's from a webcomic called 'Unsounded'. You can see some on the cover of the first volume here:

As a warning though, it isn't for little ones, though I do highly recommend it to those who don't mind darker stories.

@Norma: I mostly like solving so don't think to make puzzles. But the webcomic this is from is on a small hiatus between chapters and I wanted to do a little something for other fans. I do have some more planned that I might post. Next one is a little more lighthearted, just the striking red worked so well for the eels it was an easy place to start.

I'll be looking forward to your next one.
