Puzzle Description:

Corona of the sun during a total solar eclipse. (Not the greatest subject for a PBN, but I just had to commemorate today's event.)

^.^

Yeah, it was great. I only got 75% coverage, but it was still really cool to see that crescent sliver.

The subject is not all that important. The puzzle's the thing. And this is a nice puzzle. Phoenix had a cloud cover for part of the eclipse.

Nicely done, Robyn. I recognized it at the end, even though I had no idea what the title meant, until I looked it up. I can't believe with all the hype, that I had not heard that: a syzygy is a straight-line configuration of three celestial bodies in a gravitational system.

I was absolutely giddy, with my 75% totality and my cheapo pinhole camera. :)

We only had 75% coverage also but it was great. Since it was a day out of the ordinary, we treated it as such and did some day drinking, with some Bahama Mamas while floating in the pool with our glasses on. Great puzzle btw!

I began to guess what the puzzle was about half-way through, but enjoyed solving it nonetheless. We saw the totality but for a moment; it was an experience not to be missed.

I had to put on my shades to finish the puzzle...

Very funny Al
#9: Claire Fitzsimmons (ClaireFitz) on Aug 23, 2017
Nicely done! We had 100% totality, which was absolutely awesome!

Wow, I'm jealous, Claire and Deborah. There was only 70% up here, and I was jumping up and down with excitement. It was just amazing, and very moving for me.

Thanks for the puzzle, Robyn. I had no idea the title related to astronomy - bonus! And I learned something! Thanks all.

I went up to Wyoming for the total eclipse and it was awesome. Besides that, Casper had a party all weekend long, and we brought champagne to celebrate the eclipse. Fantastic!

Not bad for putting it in such a small puzzle.

I like this ... sometimes what seems like not the greatest subject turns out to be really interesting because it _is_ a worthwhile departure, and that's what happened here.
