I don't have any pets, but my friend has an African grey parrot. Ira knows my voice and wolf whistles when I talk to Gail on the phone. Her daughter is a veterinarian and Ira has the best of everything. Gail even grows several different types of plants for him (Ira's garden) so he has a variety of fresh greens. He goes to bed at dusk, so Gail is always home then and she never fails to bring him wonderful (healthy) special food back when she goes out.
