Puzzle Description:

A bookmark I bought at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. It's original design is by William Morris, whose work is very prominently displayed at the museum. Note to self: never make a puzzle this tall again.

With color/line logic, you can solve to you only have black left.

Using two-way logic in C20, either R42C20 or R44C20 has to be black. This forces R44C19 to always be black. And then a dot can be filled with LL.

Look at R53 next. No matter where you place it in that row, it will cause the cell above it to be black. This is not interesting by itself, but now focus on R52C12. If this is black, then so is R51C12 and R52C13. But this will be invalid as R51C13 would then be black, and we already know that R53C13 is black if R52C13 is black. So R52C12 is a dot. A black can then be filled in with LL.

Next focus on C14 and look how C11 will be affected. In C14, we have clues 3 2 2 left to place. If they go as far to the bottom as possible in R45-53, notice that it causes many dots in C11 such that there will not be a place where the 2 clue can go. This means that the 3 clue in C14 must not be at R45-47. This lets us make R41C14 black. This is enough to finish the puzzle with LL.

I agree on puzzles this tall. Post it rotated 90 degrees and make people turn their heads instead to see the image when completed. :)
