I think a circle has 360 degrees. Ancient Romans (or maybe the ancient Greeks) decided this would be good because 360 is divisible by many numbers. Also, so I understand, their "year" used to be 360 days. Yes, they knew it was really 365.25 (appx) days -- the last five days were a holiday.

Actually, Susan, it was the Babylonians, and the reason was that their number system was base 60. It was later realized that 360 has many factors, so that was just a bonus, not the original reason.
