There you go, Aldege. I once rented an apartment with no washer and dryer. The closest laundromat was always crowded and I hated waiting around. So I bought a new plunger and another shower curtain rod, which I placed as high as I could over the center of the bath tub, and an inexpensive clothes rack. I would put my clothes in the tub, use the plunger to scrub them really well, then hang them on the new shower curtain rod. By morning they were dry enough to hang on the clothes rack so we could shower. I only took the heavy linens to the laundromat.#2: Kathy Cain (kathycain) on Jan 14, 2017
Rub-a-dub-dub! And please take care of your knees.#3: Donna McFarland (donna0328) on Jan 15, 2017
Good image! I have been there. I was alright with regular clothes, but when it came to jeans, towels, sheets, and blankets ugh. My ex and I would each stand in our bare feet in the tub and twist then trying to get enough water out so they could hang. Smart idea Norma using the plunger. I wish I had thought about it the 6 months I was without a washer and dryer.#4: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Jan 15, 2017 [SPOILER]

He washes clothes, he cleans, he cooks, and even changes diapers!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there anything he can't do? (Look nice in a dress?) :)#6: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jan 15, 2017
Thx Norma,Kathy,Donna, and Sensei. Wow Norma and Donna. I can't imagine having to do this for more than a week. I have blisters on my blisters from wringing out the jeans, hoodies and towels. Although I have to admit,it was somewhat invigourating doing hard work again. :)#7: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Jan 15, 2017
It was more my back that got sore Kathy. :)
Yes I wash clothes Sensei. I also clean toilets, vacuum and wash floors and change diapers.lol. :)
Great blot puzzle Aldege! Can't imagine having to wash clothes by hand. When my washer quit I just went next door to my mom's house and used hers#8: Teresa K (fasstar) on Jan 15, 2017
Oh my gosh. This was a tricky solve, but not as difficult as washing all those clothes by hand. Are there about 7 people in your family? I hope you get that part soon so you can get off your knees. But don't ever go off the grid. We need you here with your quirky sense of humor and your awesome puzzles. :-)#9: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jan 15, 2017
Thx Susan. Well lucky you, lol. I wish I could of gone to my neighbour across the street, but I wouldn't put my clothes near their washer. :)#10: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jan 15, 2017
Thx Teresa. Yes we have 7 people in our household now. I did everyones laundry except the 2 boys. I told the boys they are old enough to do their own. Our 14 yr old J-D did his,but our 12 yr old A-J said he'll wait it out. He's out of jeans now and wearing his older brothers floods. We'll see if he can wait it out. I can't imagine going off the grid, but it sure makes you appreciate how our ancestors got by. :)
