Maybe one day I will get to Prince Edward Island, but in the meantime thank you Brian for a fun reminder of a work of fiction that seems so absolutely real.

kept me guessing until your description of what it was. Sadly to say this is one of the classics that I have not read or even seen the movies on. Great way to show your work.

I haven't read it either, but it appeared in this morning's New York Times cross-word puzzle.

Love this book and the series that followed! Yes I agree on the movie, Lisa. It was a wonderful production. My daughter and I plan on a trip to PEI as a celebration of her Masters Degree. Thanks Brian for another great puzzle.

The first CBC production (with Megan Follows and Coleen Dewhurst as Anne and Marilla) is the best adaptation, in my opinion. One of Canada's finest exports, I never tire of re-reading any of her works. (Her stand-alone novel, The Blue Castle, is a particularly good romance, in my opinion.)
