Love the puzzle, hate the subject. Quite a few years ago an apartment I was renting ( a duplex) was the victim of wind borne black widows. Only found a few inside, but quite a few outside. At that time bug sprays were pretty much useless, but I found that if went around in the evening with a flashlight I could sneak up on them and spray oven cleaner (which contained lye) on them, they would curl up and drop to the ground where I could stomp on them. The stuff of nightmares.

Nasty is right! Soon after we moved into the house we are in now, I was horrified to find two nests, one by the front door and one on the back patio. Scary, with two little kids and a baby. Got rid of them and haven't seen any since.

One part of Australia I would rather not experience. Loved the series and this one is great

A good rule of thumb: everything in Australia is trying to kill you. :)

We have a few deadly species here. Mostly we are nice though!
