Puzzle Description:

... Square Dance Day! I hope you have enjoyed celebrating these wacky holidays. All of the puzzle were fun for me and I learned a lot from the research of them.

Here is a special day to show off your dancing flair for the famous square dance. Bring down that full skirt with several layers of inner skirts to give your swing an extra magical twist.
Ways to celebrate: watch videos on square dancing or movies where square dancing is featured; learn how to square dance, shop for new clothes to wear for square dancing, host a square dance party.

Thanks for all the fun. Why are you stopping? It has been educational for us, too.

Thanks Ellen. I will do some every now and then but not take up a whole month like I did this time.

I used to folkdance 4 or 5 nights a week. I haven't in about 25 years. Donna, you've inspired me to find a partner to swing!

When I was a kid in Texas (5 or 6ish), I was in a square dancing group that performed at a talent show or something. I think we were the red gingham pair (there were also green and blue gingham). Good times!

Many decades ago I used to babysit for a couple when they went square dancing. They would get all dressed up for it -- the wife, especially would wear really pretty skirts (nice, full ones) and pretty blouses, too.

When i was a kid my church would have a square dance at their homecoming fund raiser each year and everyone got to go... even the little kids. It was such fun but since it was held on the 4th of July i remember a lot of sweaty bodies when we did the call where you swap partners around the circle.
