Yes, Heather and Aldege are correct!

Tesla's innovation was presented at a recent event:

I love the revelation of the Tesla panels and tiles. I just hope that they won't be too expensive for people to buy. Is that a south facing house, Teresa?
#5: Teresa K (fasstar) on Oct 30, 2016
I think the entire roof is installed with the solar tiles or solar shingles, but of course the greatest area would be the southern exposure.

The cost details have not been revealed, but Tesla says they will be competitive with conventional solar panels (very expensive, especially installation).

Supposedly, there will be enough energy collected from the sun to provide power to the house AND to recharge your electric car.

I'm just happy to have a roof that doesn't leak. :-)

Thanks for the puzzle and the interesting facts Teresa.

"The solar roof consists of uniquely designed glass tiles that complement the aesthetics of any home, embedded with the highest efficiency photovoltaic cells," said Tesla in a statement. "Customers can choose which sections of their roof will contain the hidden solar technology while still having the entire roof look the same."

Interesting fact Teresa. I'm not sure about the U.S. but here in Canada after our use and recharging the car any excess power generated can be sold to N.B. Power to be used on the grid. Earning you some money possibly every month. :)

I don't know how much the solar tiles will cost, but the installation fee is $10,000 -$20,000.

BTW, I am really enjoying your recent puzzles, Teresa. I'm like many others, a big fan of 20x20 b&w, quick break from household tasks. But your 30x30's seem to offer room for more detail and subtle definition of shapes. Even though I do these on a small tablet, which limits how much I can see at a time (until I reduce the image size enough, and then the squares are too tiny to hit with a finger), I'm really enjoying your larger ones too. Thanks!

Interesting news, even now; and a very fun solve.
