Puzzle Description:

Democrat or Republican? Trump or Clinton? Crook or inexperience?

#1: Belita (belita) on Oct 27, 2016 [SPOILER]

Career politician or con man? Liar or big fat liar? Scary or downright terrifying? What a choice!
#2: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 27, 2016
Can't something be done to stop this election? I don't think the world is ready for this catastrophic event. Most of us look up to the U.S. as the world leader but this could change that. I hope whichever of the lesser evils gets in doesn't screw things up for you guys. My prayers are with you gang. Who knows they may shock us in a positive way. Let's hope. :)
#3: Leigh Cousins (pog) on Oct 28, 2016
Inexperience? That's a new synonym for sociopathic, insane, etc.
#4: Donna McFarland (jade8114) on Oct 28, 2016
Only time will tell.
#5: Jennifer McMahon (kalamalama) on Oct 28, 2016
Fortunately, for me, at least, I don't think Trump is any of those things. Hillary is though. She just wants to be president. She doesn't care about the welfare of the country. I don't like either one of our choices, but Hillary is the worse of the two. She has experience all right--all bad.
#6: Susan Eberhardt (susaneber) on Oct 28, 2016
At this moment the news is breaking about a new email investigation--another one! It's making me nervous, but it's probably just more of the same stuff.
Aldege, I don't think it will be a catastrophe. Madam President will be just fine and US democracy will endure. Nov. 8 can't come soon enough.
#7: Matt Swenson (zurry) on Oct 28, 2016
You don't have to choose between crook and inexperience. You can get both!
#8: Sonja T (sugarriver) on Oct 28, 2016
CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?! I hereby declare this a Politics Free Zone. I come here to get away from the constant barrage of people dissing other people and opinions a la facebook. Crikey! The puzzle is great, but let's stick to positive comments, please? Sorry if I'm offending anyone; I don't mean it that way.
#9: Donna McFarland (jade8114) on Oct 28, 2016
I'm sorry if I offended you Sonja, this is what I hear all the time on the radio and I thought it would make an interesting puzzle.
#10: Sonja T (sugarriver) on Oct 28, 2016
Oh, Donna. It wasn't your puzzle; that was fine. Just hoping not to see the comment section spiral into a tirade like social media. It seemed like it might be bending in that direction. I am too much of a hall monitor sometimes, just hoped it stayed civil here on the forum. I enjoy your puzzles. Keep 'em coming.
#11: Donna McFarland (jade8114) on Oct 28, 2016
Thank you Sonja, I keep trying new stuff to see if I am any good at it. You never know how the comment section will go. Thank you again for letting me know your feelings.
#12: linda soter (dolphin3701) on Oct 29, 2016
Sorry for my comment but I have to say I agree with Jenn, I vote for Trump, something has to be done here, the U.S. is getting to bad and we have to pay while Clinton and company destroys America even more. At least Trump is spending his own money wile Clinton and company are getting richer and richer, and killing us.
#13: Jennifer McMahon (kalamalama) on Oct 29, 2016
Thanks Linda. I didn't mean to cause havoc. I really don't like either choice. I just think we may have a better chance of helping the country with Trump. He's against ISIS, and wants to protect us from terrorism. He has experience creating jobs. He may be able to do that for the country. We've never had so many people below the poverty line and on food stamps. As soon as Obamacare came in, my health insurance skyrocketed, and I'm poor! I was paying $10/visit. Now, it's $25/visit. Plus, the insurance costs more. Lying has always been something that offends me, and Hillary is really good at it. I don't know what to believe. But, she wants open borders, which could mean more terrorists will enter the country. That's what happened to the EU. At least, so I'm told. I live in Upcountry Maui. I feel fairly safe here, but I don't want to visit Honolulu. ISIS is reported as being in all 50 states. Trump has a horrible mouth. It's disgraceful, but it's not policy. I like his policies, not his mouth. Also, America is a great country. The people are good and caring folks. Whenever there is a need in another country from a natural disaster, it is the people from America who find the pennies under the seat cushions and send them in. We will survive either one of them.

Well, I don't know how that happened! I guess it's for people who like reading my comments twice. Sorry about that.
#16: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 29, 2016
I don't think you have to worry about the fighting and arguing here Sonja. This is a great group and no one here will hold it against anyone for voicing their opinion. I agree that the U.S. is a great country, maybe the best. And I know that whoever gets in doesn't matter too much cause Americans are there for each other and won't let anyone stray them too far. Anyway don't worry Sonja, were all cool here and we appreciate your concern and getting us back on the right path. :)

Aunt Jenny. If you really can't afford it please don't feel like you have to support Destyny by buying the cookies. We understand and appreciate the sentiment. :)
#17: Jennifer McMahon (kalamalama) on Oct 30, 2016
I can't afford a lot, Aldege, but I want to support Destyny. I have enough to spend on a few things that make me happy to do. Please, let me do this for your daughter. Two other people are joining me in this interesting and fun venture. I can afford the rest. You should have received the check by now, I would think. Have you? The mail to & from Hawai`i is slow though, so who knows? You get to have fun with your children. Allow me a little fun, too. Okay? Even the postmistress got excited about this.
#18: Donna McFarland (jade8114) on Oct 30, 2016
OMG my little puzzle caused so much fuss. I do love the way every one expressed their opinion and none of it was mean or malicious. I have said all along that we have the choice of two of the lesser evils in this election. Anyway we will have another first. The first female president, or the first president that did not come from a political background. Jennifer I am with you, I had to retire three years ago due to health issues and about the same time my daughter was diagnosed with schizoid affect. It seems every time I turn around someone has their hand out for money.
#19: Jennifer McMahon (kalamalama) on Oct 30, 2016
I'm sorry to hear about your health issues and those of your daughter, as well. I'd stay away from doctors if I could, but I'm almost 76 years old, with both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. My rheumatologist and my internist both insist on seeing me every 3 - 6 months. I do want to keep as healthy as possible, so I don't argue. Then, there's the dentist and the eye doctor, as well. The dentist isn't so bad, but I have macular degeneration and cataracts, so that stuff has to be checked periodically. I still work, too! I'm a self-employed accountant, really busy in tax season, but trying to cut back. I'm not complaining, but getting older is not always fun. That's one reason I'm enjoying buying cookies from Destyny. It's fun. I need fun in my life. Aldege has a great family. I love hearing about them, so I am enjoying belonging to them for a little while. I have many good friends, too, who will not let me starve to death. My neighbors have me over for dinner quite a lot, and I get the left-overs. They're fun neighbors, too. We laugh together a lot. So, maybe getting old is not so bad after all. No matter who wins the election, I trust Americans. We'll be all right.
#20: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 30, 2016
Aunt Jenny absolutely we will do this. I am so touched by your embracing my family and that our antics bring you joy. I am tearing up so much as I type this I'm afraid I might short out my keyboard. No I have not received your cheque yet but I'm sure I'll see it this week and I will send the cookies pronto. Let's hope the border agent puzzle I made doesn't come true.lol. I understand your feelings in wanting to do this cause it makes you happy and brings you joy. We are a family of 7 with 5 pets. I am on a disability pension and Niki is not employed. I am tapped out on my credit cards but I manage to pay them every month and that's all that matters. The Canadian government is very good to us however and we have a good quality of life thanks to our government. Even though I don't have much money whenever I get gas at the station at the native reserve,I bring the gas attendant a Tim Horton's coffee. Medium DR DD (DARK ROAST DOUBLE DOUBLE). Whoever the attendant that is working at that time they always say" hey thanks man but you don't have to do that" and I respond " No,but it makes me happy and brings me joy to do it" So I understand your feelings. This little endeavor of yours is bringing a lot of joy to a lot of people. Your post lady, all the parents from Destyny's Sparks and a host of people from here and from were you live that have heard about this. And let's not forget little Destyny too who has told all her friends at school and is so excited about it. So feel real good about your decision to support your niece cause you have brought great joy to many. :)

BTW my disability is also from Rheumatoid arthritis. I take several medications and go for infusions of Rutuxin every 6 months which cost $10,000. All paid for by the Canadian government. Rituxin is a wonder drug. It allows me to function so that I can be a proper father to my girls and play with them like they need. :)

See this is what happens every time I start to feel sorry for myself I find out the troubles others have. I filed bankruptcy and had my meeting of the creditors now we wait for Dec. 12 when it will all be over. It will be two years in Feb. that we are waiting for Social Security to say that my daughter is disabled, waiting for a court date sometime at the beginning of the year. All of these are hurry up and wait things then my life will improve drastically.

Jennifer and Aldege I will keep you in my prayers always. Unfortunately for both of you, what you have will never go away and you are stuck with it. I love that both of you have such a positive attitude towards life. As long as you have that you will be great. After finding out all of this about you I feel as if I just inherited two new family members.

LOL and keep smiling. You are inspiration for me.

The puzzle was fine. The politics stink. Cut the crap.
#23: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 30, 2016
Donna our prayers are with you also. I feel very lucky and blessed despite my disability. I met Niki who was responsible for introducing me to WEBPBN. We have 3 beautiful daughters together and I've had 3 different Rheumatologist who have kept my arthritis under control and kept me mobile. And I have a wonderful French African Canadian family doctor who takes great care of our family and did the painstaking paperwork involved in getting me and Niki and her 2 boys acknowledged as being disabled and qualified for the disability tax credit. I live in a great country that has a medical system that covers us for all our drugs, eyeglasses and dental and they cover the steep price per year for my Rituxin infusions($20,000/yr). We also receive the Child Tax Benefit which supplements my low income and allows us a decent quality of life.
Don't feel bad about filling for bankruptcy either Donna. Stuff happens beyond our control sometimes. I had to do it a long time ago with my first wife and it was the best thing I ever did. Yes I lost my home and had to rent for awhile but after 7 yrs I started with a clean slate and was able to get a mortgage again and develop a good credit rating which I still have today. Stay positive and you will bounce back. Life goes in cycles and good times will come around again. :)
#24: Donna McFarland (jade8114) on Oct 30, 2016
thanks Aldege, I try to keep positive but there are times when we all slip into that poor pity me side. For a long time now I have told people I am a tough ol broad and can usually handle most anything you shoot my way. Have done for 63 years and will continue to do so.
#25: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 30, 2016
That a girl. Your still a spring chicken. :)
#26: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Oct 30, 2016
The wonderful Cookie Caper is bringing joy to so many. Just reading the exchanges between everybody brings me joy.
#27: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 30, 2016
Cool auntie Norma. :)
#28: Jennifer McMahon (kalamalama) on Oct 31, 2016
I have a lot of friends here in Hawai`i that are like family to me. I feel like I also have a WEBPBN family. I love reading about Aldege's family, and Norma's stories are so delightful. I always look forward to doing a "Norma" puzzle. Now, I'm learning more about Donna. I'll keep you in my prayers, also. I'm sure you are tough, but sometimes things do get hard. Just contact your WEBPBN family. We're all behind you. I'm sure it will all work out finally.
#29: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Nov 5, 2016
We are all here to support each other. My WEBPBN family was a great help when hubby was going through his cancer treatment. My getaway from the day to day stress was so important at the time.
#30: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Nov 6, 2016
Cute donkey! I'm voting for option C (or D, depending on the ballot order). Even though Johnson doesn't have a chance of winning, if he gets at least 5% of the popular vote (I think that's the amount), then his party will receive a percentage of the election money going forward, plus there'll be a 3rd podium at the debates. What change I *can* help effect is important to me.
#31: Aydin Z (aydinz) on Nov 9, 2016
an elephant is always bigger than a donkey. everything will gonna better w mr trump
#32: Belita (belita) on Nov 11, 2016
That remains to be seen. He says he's going to "fix the system". We'll hold him to that. The first thing he can fix is the electoral college which he condemned in the past, and which allowed him to be president even though the majority of the people voted for Clinton.
#33: Teresa K (fasstar) on Nov 11, 2016
Yep, I'm with you on that, Belita.
