Puzzle Description:

vacuum gauge

Yes. We need to gauge how well our vacuum is performing.

OK Brian you got me. As I was solving I thought it was one of those games that you flip a disk or ball around. Nearing the end of the puzzle I thought of a gas gauge. Then I find out it is a vacuum gauge. Great Job again.

I had to guess a LOT. I trust you to make a puzzle with a single solution, so I marked it Deep Lookahead.

Cute picture!

Another good one Brian. :)

I challenged myself not to guess, and I got through it, very carefully. I'm so glad I stuck with it, because it was so satisfying, and watching the image pop was pretty cool.

At first I made it all B&W but I couldn't solve it so I made the bag green. It was really hard but I solved it without guessing.

Awesome solve!
#8: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Oct 17, 2016 [HINT]
i would call it moderate lookahead. i didn't track my solve, but i think i only used EL and one 2-way. EL in R25 and EL in R9 were the main areas of help. part of the trickiness comes with the fact that you have to return to color logic (use it initially and then again after some advanced moves) and that the EL in R9 is internal. great solve and fun picture!!
#9: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Oct 17, 2016 [HINT]
additional info: the two-way was down in the lower right, looking at where the 9 in R23 could shift. i don't remember the specifics but think "whether it includes C26R23 or CxxR23, CxxR22 is black"

My vacuum doesn't have this sort of measuring device. I can see where one would be useful.
#11: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Oct 17, 2016
That's a pretty old vacuum Brian. Is it a Kirby? :)
#12: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Oct 17, 2016
Definitely not a Roomba.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by infrapinklizzard.
#14: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Dec 3, 2016 [HINT]
after ll & cl,
el 4 r25 = c16-21, c23 w
ll
iel 9 r23: if the 9 were to go right past c27, there would be nowhere for the 4 in r25 to go. Therefore the range of the 9 can only be [c16-27] and r23c19 must be blacK
ll/cl
el 4 r9 = c10-17 w
ll/cl to finish

This puzzle doesn't suck.

Had to use 2-way. I'd call it moderate look-ahead.
Interesting solve. I like that there's not tons of fiddly 1s or brainless coloring-in.
Thank you for the puzzle.

I only rated it hard because I had to guess once. Otherwise, a quick fun solve.

Nice. I also had to guess once. I did guess what it was though.
