If you add some water you can usually make it solvable without guessing. It also helps to overlap the lines.

I did not guess at all. I chose smartly some points that would lead to conflicts, backtracking then (quite a lot unfortunately), then for the tail I used the symmetry of the remaining clues. But it's not fun. :( It would really help to have some additional clues in the image, not in the title.

I wonder, if you added a black square to R41, C27 and C45 (or, alternately, C29 and C43), would that make the puzzle logically solvable? It really wouldn't take much. Maybe a black square in R18, C19 as well?

I don’t think this image required that much guessing. Certainly, the clue in the title helped me start. I was able to solve the edges by looking at the patterns the numbers made on each axis.
