Puzzle Description:

Another example of Cockney rhyming slang. Sometimes the original meaning of a rhyming slang gets forgotten over time. Yes, "raspberry tart" = "fart". Example: "He blew a raspberry". (Never "SHE blew a raspberry")

Huh. I had understood the term "to blow a raspberry" to mean to make that noise with your mouth, a Bronx cheer. I had always wondered where the raspberry came in, this explains it. Thanks!
