Very pretty, I guess the climate would have to be just right to avoid expensive upkeep. But it would be pretty. Arizona's too cheap.

I've never seen flower baskets on lampposts.

Georgia does it some, but has cut down on the number of them, inflation I guess.

Great Job.

great belita :)
#6: Tonia Bergh (tonia) on Sep 11, 2016
Very pretty! My city does this, and it is gorgeous!
#7: Jill Tallmer (Yidl) on Sep 11, 2016
I remember when San Francisco first put these up by City Hall--what a happy picture Belita. I still didn't know what it was until I read your description!
#8: Jota (jota) on Sep 11, 2016
Gorgeous!
#9: Carol Brand (KarylAnn) on Sep 11, 2016

Very nice Belita. I can't believe all cities and towns don't do this. All the little towns around here do it and most of them also put pots or flower boxes on some street corners or boulevards. If your city or town doesn't do it you need a new mayor. :)

I was born and raised in Globe, AZ where the elevation is 3500 ft. I have two nieces who still live there and the youngest one has a very beautiful flower and vegetable garden and brings home blue ribbons from the county fair every year. Phoenix? Ha! We now go directly from winter to summer and growing anything is almost a lost cause. I have seen some pretty roses for a short time period before the temps get over 100 but I don't even try.

Kalamazoo is the self-proclaimed Bedding Plant capital of the world, and they do up *everything* to excess. :)

We don't have lampposts but we do put big tubs of flowers along the road. This is a very pretty image Belita

Good for you. My hanging plants always die. I think I need to water them twice a day. It's pretty dry here in Denver.
#19: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Mar 21, 2021
Mine did too. Automated watering is so worth it!
#20: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Mar 22, 2021
I am toxic to plants. The only plant I had that grew was a potato half immersed in water. And even that turned out to be a massive failure because when I brushed up against it a swarm of mosquitos flew out.

We live in unincorporated county, but the town 2 miles down the road does it, and so does my sister's town. I don't know what Portland usually does. It used to be one of the "Most Livable Cities" in the country, but since the riots and whatnot, everything's boarded up and graffitied.

What a shame. Protests really can change things, but riots undo the good that a protest can do.
