Gotta! Best for the dog, best for the overpopulation of pets!
#4: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Oct 6, 2016
I had our rescue dog neutered (3 years ago), and my husband and son STILL make comments about his lack of balls, and how that's all my fault.

Hello. I thought that was a plane or a tree. :)

I had forgotten how challenging and fun your puzzles are, Brian. Very enjoyable, especially the moment I finally got it. :-D

I agree, I didn't get it until the very end. Great puzzle!

I like "I tree my dog"

This one was a bit tricky in the middle. I had a tough time solving it myself (and I knew what the solution was).

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by infrapinklizzard.

Fun puzzle, Brian!

I couldn't tell what it would be until I was finishing the last few squares. That's hard to pull off for puzzle makers! Well done

I got really stuck on this one. Even after Joe's advice in #17 I was still stuck. My solution was very grind-y -- I still want to teach myself how to do more with using logic for this kind of puzzle instead of grinding.

After using edge logic on row 1 and row 6, here's what I did:

1) The top 2 in column 19, if you fill in the 2 at the top, in rows 1 and 2, it leads to errors. So those two squares are dots.

2) The bottom 2 in column 19, if filled in at the bottom leads to errors. So rows 19 and 20 of column 19 are dots.

3) Then I tried placing the top 2 of column 19 in rows 8-10. The 2 can go in two places, so this only lets you fill in the square in row 9. But if you fill that in, it leads to a contradiction. So column 19 rows 8-10 are dots.

4) Next, I looked at column 2. If I put the last 2 at the bottom, in columns 19-20, that led to a contradiction, so those spaces are dots.

5) Then from there I could solve it with line logic. Whew!!

I'd like to lobby for calling this puzzle "deep lookahead" rather than moderate.

After my two hints, there is a hard-to-find bit of line logic:
c6r4 must be white whether the black pixel at c6r6 is part of the 1 or the 2 clue in that column.

Then easy line logic to finish
