I love this series, but I've been horrified by the treatment you received. You are sentient and could stand up for yourself, make your wishes known, and cope in one way or another with these people. Can you just imagine the dire straits and mistreatment of those who cannot. There are often exposés on TV, but so many of those outfits are still out there.

Yes, Lollipop, you frequently hear about people being treated horribly in nursing homes in many different ways. I really wish I could do something, but it's just not possible at this point in my life. My health goes down hill little by little (old age setting in) and I really worry about what will happen to me if I can no longer care for myself. We had to put my mother in several places before we found one that was halfway decent. My sister tried to keep her in her home by hiring a live in nurse but she went through several who were useless and had to give up on that idea.

Wishing you good health so you don't have to find out what will happen. Great series

Yet another great picture. I am horrified at what you had to go through and really worry because some time next year I am going to have to find a place for my 26 year old daughter and she has a mental illness (Schizophrenia). I would keep her, but if I suddenly got sick or worse, she could not handle the sudden change.

OMG!

Wow I feel really bad about what you girls are going thru. It makes me thankful for my health and the health of my kids. I guess I take things for granted. I just hope you girls don't get fed up with me exposing you to what might appear to be a perfect life. Trust me it's not perfect but it is pretty good. I know you girls don't feel that way cause you've shown me that. I can't imagine how hard it is to watch your daughter suffer with this illness Donna. Great series Norma. What you went thru was bad but you handled it like a trooper and your telling us about it with these puzzles is not only entertaining but also educational. Thank you. :)

Thank you so much, everybody. I had thought that I could make puzzles out of all the crazy things that happened, but wasn't sure how they would go over. I'm glad you are enjoying solving them, and if anything tickles your funny bone, go ahead a laugh. I do.

Donna, some of the best decisions are the hardest. But getting your daughter settled is a new place now and used to her surroundings while you are still able to visit her her and show her your love is a good thing.

I didn't know it was possible to laugh and be horrified at the same time. When we had to put my aunt in a dementia care facility, at least it was brand new and the staff was awesome and very caring. It really is not funny how some places treat patients without regard for their individual needs. I'm glad you're still here to entertain and enlighten!

Thank you Claire. I hope the "newness" doesn't wear off.

When one of my daughters was a teenager she would tease me with "You should be nice to me or I won't visit you in the home." It seemed silly and so far off for both of us, then. She is now the same age that I was then, with teenagers of her own, and there's no more teasing ... not about that, at least.

It's funny when you are young, old age just isn't part of the equation. You think you will be forever young and the old people will be old but they won't be leaving you.

Norma, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. But I'm glad you can share these experiences with us. Your puzzles are always high quality and a pleasure to solve.

How is it possible to laugh and be outraged at the same time? This image made me laugh, but the story behind it made me angry.
It's amazing how you have used your experiences to give us puzzlers some fun.
Thank you Norma.

Thank you, Jewel. It wasn't until I made this puzzle that I realized how funny we must have looked walking down the hall.
#16: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Aug 26, 2016
Jeez, if you don't want your patient to fall, you could, I dunno, OFFER YOUR ARM FOR SUPPORT.
#17: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Aug 26, 2016
You're right, Kristen. That's exaactly what I told him.
#18: Jill Tallmer (Yidl) on Aug 27, 2016
Appalling story, appealing picture
