Puzzle Description:

The second night one of their staff harpies came to change the linen. She took a fairly decent thermal blanket and replaced it with a blanket that was as stiff as cardboard (The green line in the puzzle). She also took the extra pillow that the doctor had ordered for me to prop my arm on. I never did get it back. Had to wad up my top sheet.

How can people be so mean, and pretend to work "helping" others.

I wish I could have done something to close them down.

That's so sad Norma. Thank goodness you got out of there

I know there are some nursing homes out there that are good, but it is one like you went to that give them all a bad rep.

Another good one!

Thanks, Susan and Donna. I never would have chosen this one. It's a short distance from the hospital where I was taken for my broken arm, so that's where they decided to dump my roommate and me. The name of the hospital is Paradise Valley Hospital, fondly referred to as Death Valley Hospital.

Very Appropriate! Being very personal why did you have to go to a nursing home for a broken arm? Don't answer if you do not want to.

As I said in number 5, it was the hospital's choice (and probably my insurance also) to move me to a nursing home to recover as it was a pretty bad break requiring an orthopedic surgeon to attach a metal brace to the bone and they wanted me in a cheaper location to keep an eye on me.

I broke the ulna in a fall in my yard. It was really stupid. I was in a hurry and was holding my purse in front of me looking for something in it. My purse blocked my vision of the ground and I tripped on a rose bush stump. Since my right arm was holding up my purse it took the whole brunt of the fall. The reason for my fall kept various staff members quite busy trying to think up devious ways to make me admit than I fell because I was drunk or high. Either that or I was too feeble to be on my own. Sheesh!

Nurse Cratchett, oh, that was an insane asylum. Water for Elephants...

Is there not some governing body to make sure this crap can't happen? :)

I'm so sorry for all you went through, but I've gotta say this series is hilarious!

Thank you for saying what happened. I had bacterial meningitis and was scheduled to go to a nursing home when my dad stepped in and said he would supervise my care at home. He learned how to give medicine through the IV and then clean out the meds to be ready for the next time. After seeing what you went through I love my dad even more although he is with God now. Bill there is really nothing funny about this.

It wasn't funny at the time, but now I can look back and laugh a bit. Bless your dad Donna. I'm sorry he's no longer with you. Sounds like he was one in a million.

I don't think Bill is laughing at Norma's expense Donna. The way Norma is portraying her poor treatment is kinda comical and makes for some very entertaining puzzles. I think most of us here are enjoying her tales. I'm sure Norma is having fun sharing her experience with us. It's a great series Norma. :)

You're exactly right, Aldege and thank you. As always, this should be a fun place so you should share the funny side of these experiences with me. It's like one of those comedies where there is a character for whom nothing goes right, and life is a series of disasters.

Legend has it, her collection of soft thermal blankets and extra pillows continues to grow and grow.

Undoubtedly.
