Is that technically a 'cartoon'?

There were two different cartoon series for Gumby, and when Gumby came out there was a lot of stop motion clay animation. On the other hand you could e right and Gumby might not be considered 'technically' a cartoon.

I can't pinpoint why, but Gumby always gave me the creeps.
