I had two copies of that book and did not manage to work through all the puzzles in either of them, but I did enjoy working the ones I could. Nice T-Rex, btw.

I still have that book somewhere in my closet. That was my first pbn book but I discovered them first in Games magazine.

Thanks for bringing this king back to life! Well done!
#6: valerie o..travis (bigblue) on Aug 2, 2016
my first experience was also in games magazine, good one brian :)
#7: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Aug 2, 2016
Long live the king. I wore out the first book by erasing and redoing. Then broke down and bought another later on. Subscribed to both Games and World of Games. Always worked one pbn before anything else, then rationed the rest.

Cool!

Same here, Matty and Norma. Loved that book! Still have it - I never could convince myself to throw it away!

When the magazine came, I would look to see if that issue had pbn puzzles. Then came the bingeing.
#11: Tom King (sgusa) on Aug 2, 2016
Me, too. I photocopied the pages and should still have the book around somewhere. Thanks for the puzz, Brian!

I started with Games magazine as well. This is a great puzzle Brian
#13: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Aug 2, 2016
Just as cute as he was the first time!
#14: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Aug 3, 2016
like Norma I erased so much it would tear the paper. So I bought another book and made 5 copies of each puzzle.

Me too with Games and World of Games, but I didn't have subscriptions. I'd go to the bookstore and if they didn't have pbn puzzles that month I didn't buy those issues. My pbn book arrived the day my daughter went into a 3-1/2 day labour (long story) and I was with her the whole time because my former son-in-law had irregular shifts and worked nights. Then she had some problems so I stayed over several nights a week to feed my infant granddaughter. That dinosaur pbn book was my constant companion. Years later I ordered it again.

Are you all aware of the monthly Hanjie and bi-monthly Super Hanjie puzzle magazines you can order from Puzzler Media in the UK? I first found them in 2008 in the magazine stands at Heathrow just before flying home from my sister's wedding and have had subscriptions ever since. Now that I spend part of the winter in Florida I save them up all year and spend my sunny winter days at the pool reading my kindle and doing pbn puzzles. On rainy days I am of course on my computer with webPBN. Do you think I should get a life?

A few years ago I broke my arm and as soon as I woke up they transferred me to the nursing home from hell. One of the worst things they did was bring me a World of Games puzzle magazine and ask me if I liked puzzles. Not only did they not give me a pencil, I had broken my right arm and wouldn't have been able to hold a pencil if I'd had one.

Norma, that just breaks my heart. I hope you never have to go through anything like that again.

Lollipop, that sounds like a good life to me! :-)

Thank you, Teresa. What a horrible place that was. Even though I was only there a short time, I could have written a book about how bad it was.

I also found out about pbn via Games magazine, and nice teeth on the pic

I too, started with Games. And I bought that book.

I had that book too. I used to hand draw out the puzzles on graph paper. Then I started copying them when I bought a home copy machine. I never wrote in the book. I wanted to be able to solve the puzzles over and over before I found this site.

I used automatic pencils and had a drawer full of led and erasers. I experimented until I found erasers that wouldn't tear up the paper and led that was easy to erase.
