Nice image. Couldn't figure out what he was eating, but I knew it had to be hot.

Love these puzzles moot. Been a while!
#4: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Jul 31, 2016
I haven't been interested in making too many puzzles since the "great loss".

I wonder if we will ever recover all the lost puzzles.
#5: Tom King (sgusa) on Jul 31, 2016
Thanks for the puzzle, Brian!
#6: Jota (jota) on Jul 31, 2016
Let's hope so!

Aw, I'm sorry, Brian. It is hard to lose all that work that you and the others have done. I miss your puzzles, I hope you come back more often.

This is an excellent puzzle.

Wasn't familiar with these lyrics...had to look them up! Great puzzle, Brian! Thanks for making another Mondegreen.

Yes, I understand how upsetting it can be seeing a lot of your work disappear. I'm a glass half full person though, so how about looking at it this way. We still have Jan's site to be thankful for, we still have lots of old and new puzzles to work on, we still have the Webpbn family and that family misses your puzzles and input. I knew I had lost a few of my What do we have in common? puzzles so when I recently created a few more, I just started numbering them starting from the last one in My Puzzles list. I hope to see you back creating and enjoying the site soon! Hugs!

Thank you. I just miss my babies.

There was talk of PDFs of the missing puzzles. Does anyone know if they exist? I would start the process of solving them on paper then republishing them electronically.
#13: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Aug 1, 2016
I may have lost more than anyone. I'm not sure. However as upsetting as it is all I can do is hope that some day they can be recovered. In the meantime I just keep making puzzles and enjoying the images of others puzzles and the friendship we all share. This is a fun and happy place to be. Now if you'll all excuse me I'm gonna jump in our little pool and play with my girls. :)
#14: Carol Brand (KarylAnn) on Aug 1, 2016
Yes, Brian. Here's the site where the pdfs are: http://webpbn.com/t/ I looked through them and decided it would be an arduous task to find my own puzzles but then again I have created far fewer than you or Aldege. Good luck!
#15: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Aug 1, 2016
Omigosh! Is that the entire list? I don't remember which numbers fell into the gap.
#16: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Aug 1, 2016
WOW! There they are. Thank you Carol. What an amazing gift. I'll start tonight.
#17: Teresa K (fasstar) on Aug 2, 2016
Kristen: #25206 was the last puzzle posted on Aug. 18, 2014, and 28019 was the first one posted May 23, 2016.

That narrows it down a little, but there's a lot of puzzles there on the pdf list in the gap. There are actually 2,271 "lost" puzzles there. No, I didn't count them, I just cut and pasted into a new Excel document that counted them for me. :-)

Brian, really fun puzzle. I'm so glad you are creating these for us again. Thank you!

I think I have to buy some ink and paper tomorrow. I've already found 10 of my old puzzles. As I recreate them, what should I call them?
#19: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Aug 2, 2016
re-created and the # then what you name it now.
#20: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Aug 2, 2016
Wow, this is going to be tedious. :)
#21: Carol Brand (KarylAnn) on Aug 2, 2016
I'm glad you are happy Brian!
#22: Gary Webster (glwebste) on Aug 2, 2016
What Carol said. I love solving your puzzles, Brian. You need to be able to do what all great artists need to learn to do: once it's finished, let it go!

I'm glad you haven't stopped!
#23: Tom King (sgusa) on Aug 2, 2016
I was wondering why I wasn't getting new comments... I had around 300 but have created few recently.
#24: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Aug 2, 2016
Most of the forums were wiped as well, sadly.
#25: Jota (jota) on Aug 2, 2016
Let's recreate!!!

This thread warms my heart. I'd assume that there was some sort of backup, or some mechanism to back things up to a PDF file, and it's cool to see there was an actual backup link for the fabled Great Database Crash of 2016.
