How sweet. Been there done that. Loved your puzzle.

How bittersweet! Is Destyny with friends at the camp? That would help her offset any home-sickness.
#3: Jota (jota) on Jul 25, 2016
OMG! She's growing so fast! How long will she be there? Do you get to contact her?
#4: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jul 25, 2016
What a cute puzzle. I'm sure she'll have lots of fun. I didn't work until my kids were in school and when they went off to school I felt such a big loss as I'm sure all parents do.

I have felt the same thing, four times with my own kids, and then again with a grandson. When an opening occurred at day care, I had a hard time not going to him after 1 1/2 years of babysitting. I did, however visit him at daycare and took him early several times. Mom said that I need to let him stay for the day at daycare because he misses out on some stuff. :(

:) Good luck Destiny! My daughter Ann is also in a summer camp.

You are such an awesome dad, Aldege! Destyny is going to have so many stories for you.

THX Aunties Donna,Kathy,Jota,Norma,Ellen and Claire. Thx Uncle Thomas. Is this her first time away from home uncle Thomas?

Letting go is always hard. You fear for their safety even though you know they're in good hands. You also know the emotional turmoil they may feel too. However you also know that it will be such a wonderful growing experience for them. Auntie Kathy said it best. It's bittersweet. :)

She's only there for 2 nights and 3 days auntie Jota and no you cannot contact her. If something happens that they cannot control they will contact us. The great thing about this camp is that the children who have grown up going to this camp end up being volunteer councillors. They know how to handle any situations that come up. As much as I worry and miss her,I am very secure that she is being well taken care of and is having the time of her life. This must be a bit tough for you too now auntie Jota. You have been in Destyny's life even before she was born. Destyny and Chastydy know all about their aunties and uncles from WEBPBN. They always ask to see puzzles from everyone. :)

Thx auntie Claire. I can't wait to hear her stories and I hope she had so much fun that she can't wait to go again next year. :)

i can't wait to see all the fun puzzles from all the fun stories destyny tells you :)

It is so hard to see that our babies are growing up. Don't blink; if you do, your babies will be having 8th grade graduation. The next blink will have your babies graduating from high school. I blinked too many times, and now my youngest grandson is four.

I missed my kids when they went to sleepover camp a week here and two weeks there, right up until the year that all three of them happened to be away at the same time. That's when I realized that it was the first time since our first was born that my husband and I had a chance to get away alone together, knowing that our children were happy and well taken care of and without the constant pull to call home to check in and speak to them. That's when I started planning for their summer camp periods to coincide.

But now I'm back to missing my grandkids when they are away.
#12: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jul 26, 2016
Thx auntie Travis and auntie Vesta. Well said auntie Vesta. Maybe if we have our eye lids pinned so that we can't blink they will stay as babies and toddlers forever. :)
#13: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jul 26, 2016
I must have had a nervous tic, because my GREAT grandson is in his twenties.
#14: Carolyn Starkweather (starkie1) on Jul 26, 2016
Wow, how time flies! I remember when you announced her birth.
#15: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jul 26, 2016
That's funny auntie Norma. :)

It sure does auntie Carolyn. :)
#16: Jill Tallmer (Yidl) on Jul 27, 2016

Awesome puzzle Al
#19: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jul 31, 2016
Thx auntie Susan. When Destyny came home I asked her if she turned back to see me when I left her on the swings and she said " No,I didn't even think about you after you left." I swallowed the lump in my throat, wiped a tear from my eye and said" That's great honey, cause I wanted you to have fun." :)
#20: Teresa K (fasstar) on Jul 31, 2016
Oh, Aldege, this puzzle and story just touched my heart, so precious. I'm glad she did not look back - that means you are raising her right, to be strong and adventurous and NOT afraid to explore new horizons. I'm glad she was not away for too long though. <3
#21: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jul 31, 2016
Thx auntie Teresa. Trust me it was hard on me. I do want her to be strong and adventurous but girl is it ever hard. You read and hear about all the bad crap that happens to kids these days but you can't inhibit their growth. :)
#22: Brenda Barnes Jamieson (bbj) on Aug 6, 2016
Yep. It's almost always harder for us to let go of our kids than for them to go on without us . . . Aldege, you will be just fine in the next transitions, too. I promise!
#23: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Aug 8, 2016
Thx auntie Brenda. I know I will. I've been thru this before with my first two but it's never easy. :)
#24: Tom King (sgusa) on Aug 19, 2016
