When I said church key when talking to a friend my own age (over 50 but not saying how far!) she didn't know what it was. She does now.

We still call it that now but don't use them much anymore with screw top bottles

I think we called them can openers as my mother and dad drank canned milk in their coffee. We rarely had bottles to open except milk.
