I was guessing "drowning witch"...(perspective: witch in foreground)

Not fair for me, because after thinking on it, I remembered seeing this one!
#5: Corey Beaudoin (red) on May 21, 2008
Iceburg straight ahead!!!
#6: Ga Hendrick (GaHendrick) on May 22, 2008 [SPOILER]
Images are, to pervert a phrase, in the experiential eye of the beholder. My thoughts run similar to Corey's. I saw a large cargo ship being guided by a tugboat. Of course I live in the San Francisco Bay Area - so I see this on occasion. Thanks for the creative inspiration.

This was a bad copy of JC's Puzzle 1454. No stealing. :(
#8: T J PHISTER (tjphister) on May 23, 2008
Sorry. Didn't mean to steal. 1454 hasn't come up randomly for me yet. :o(
#9: m2 (mercymercy) on May 24, 2008
If you go and choose it, then you will see how alike they are.
#10: T J PHISTER (tjphister) on May 24, 2008
I believe you. I'll just continue on my random ways. It'll come up eventually.
#11: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on May 25, 2008 [SPOILER]
So where did the saying (or picture) come from, I never heard the saying before JC's puzzle, so I thought it was just his odd way of seeing things (no offense JC)

I saw it in a book when I was a little kid. After the discussions we've had here on this site about them, I figured out they were called "Droodles", and found a web site.

fun and easy.
#14: Susan Nagy (susannagy54) on Jul 7, 2016
I had just solved droodle #4, and thought it was so much fun I would solve some other droodles. This is the only other one I found. Where are droodles 1 and 2? Anyway, I guess I'm off the solve 1454.

I don't know who's #1454 is, but, I also made one like this, as well as a few other "droodle"
#16: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Feb 18, 2021 [SPOILER]
I'm not sure how many of the commenters are still on the site, but the Droodles were resurrected a few months ago (late 2020 or early 2021). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Droodles
