Excellent little puzzle. And tell your mom to keep on truckin'. :)

You crammed a lot into a 10x10 grid. Nice.

This one got lost in the crash. I recreated it because it's easy and I want some non-pbn friends to be able to solve it.
#6: Jota (jota) on May 26, 2016
I thought I remembered it!

You have drawn your mom as a member of the blue rinse set, which made me chuckle. Does she also wear sweater sets with the little pearls sewn on?

#8: Jill Tallmer (yidl) on May 26, 2016
Lollipop, 10x10 pixel appearances can be deceiving. Mom's walker is really blue, her hair is a lovely white, and she wears t-shirts, sneakers, and no socks even in the dead of winter. I made her retire at 88.

I want to be her when I grow up. What was she up to before she retired? JT, does your name yidl have meaning in another language?

Yidl Mitn Fidl (Yidl with his Fiddle) is a famous Molly Picon film, and she's my idol.

Mom was a shrink, a professor, and a world traveler. Most of her friends have died and her memory is shot. But she still enjoys NYC, her darling dog Pablo, devoted friends, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, the Great American Songbook, and The Golden Girls.

nice story

She sounds like a wonderful lady! I remembered this puzzle as well.

My mom's walker is a "tri"- cycle -- 3 wheels -- and it is very easy to handle, and turns on a dime. Her memory is also "shot" -- she doesn't remember that my brother -- her son -- died a year and a half ago, or almost anything that happened more than five minutes ago. She still enjoys long walks, however and greeting the neighbors. She was a nurse and a college nursing instructor, and still likes to read and watch tv. She is 89. (I solved this before the crash, and while I was reading the facebook posts I saw that a lot of people used this site to help alleviate depression. Although I don't consider myself "depressed", it can be depressing taking care of someone whose memory is "shot".) I'll stop venting now and move on to the next puzzle.

Bet they'd like each other! Caregiving for someone with Alzheimer's is indeed draining, but there's an upside: living in the moment. We have a lot of sweet moments together. I hope you and your mom do too, Susan.

They probably would like each other. We do have some good times -- when we've been out to a restaurant and she says how much she liked it. My favorite sweet moments come each morning when my dog, Sparky, jumps on her bed and she says "Good morning, Sparky!" And he says (with some help from me), "Good morning Grandma!"

Adorable--what kind of dog is he?

I just found this gem of a puzzle. JT, this has got to be one of my favorite 10x10 puzzles ever! My mom is 96 and still truckin. My mom is also a social butterfly enjoys chatting up her neighbors every day.

Thanks for sharing your puzzle and story with us. This is what I love about webpbn. :-)

I would love to get all our moms together.
