Why do you need a pet, a mom and a blender?

I can't remember what this at-home science experiement was supposed to be, but I can tell you that it involves a see-through glass, a washer tied to a string hanging from a pencil placed across the top of the glass. Then you wait. Not sure what you're waiting for. Maybe Brian or someone else knows?

I had the same thought, Valerie...or maybe that's the way to grow some other type crystal?

Also...if that IS the answer...what the heck are those things on each side of said glass? They look like a cat and a dog to me, attached to that glass by their tails.

I think those must be the kids, watching the science project!

Hm. Looking at it again, I think the one on the left must be a pet, but I do think the one on our right is a child.

The line below them is the table that the science project is sitting on.

Lol...now that you mention kids, Valerie, I can totally see it being kids...the one on the left now looks like a little girl wearing her hair in doggie tails, peeking over the table with the top half of her face!
