Hm. Michigan would be maize and blue, and a block M with sides that are straight and vertical. So I think this is some other "M" instead.

(I am sports-clueless, but I went to U of M for college and still live in Ann Arbor. So everybody in the city kind of gets hit over the head with it, even people like me with no clue about sports.)

So I have no idea then.

Hm. I did a web search, and U of Minnesota seems like a possibility.

C'mon sporty folks, give us some help here?

Minnesota looks like the one. I thought maybe Maryland but Maryland's is straight up and Minnesota's has angles all over the M. Minnesota has a more straight-up M, as Valerie noted.

As a sports fan in the Midwest my initial reaction was Minnesota. Google Image assured me my intuition wasn't too far off base.

Missouri is another possibility but it's gold and also a more block M, not as iconic as Michigan's.

https://www.sportslogos.net/teams/list_by_league/32/NCAA_Division_I_i-m/NCAA_i-m/logos/ notes most Ms are block Ms

Thanks Andrew!

Since we both live in the midwest, if it's okay to ask, I am curious what state you live in? Are we neighbors? Just curious! It's okay not to answer.

Definitely Minnesota! It should be a little wider, like an upside down W. As a Penn Stater who does follow sports, I recognized it as I was solving.
