really..are they from your childhood or are they still selling those kits? (I used to make so many of them, my grandma had a cupboard full of them!)

I'm pretty sure they still sell those kits. I made them was I was younger, now my cousins do them.

It's quite possible Naneki that in Jan's home they are still currently being made. :)

I had a bunch of these too. I never thought that I'd run out but they do fall apart. They remaining few are stashed away for safe keeping.

Well, we've got the kind that are woven from loops of fabric on a square frame. They get made and unmade, and the loops get scattered around the house, but they never get used as pot holders.

That's the kind I used to make and the kind my cousins were making. The ones I kept definately got made and unmade and turned into chains and other things but the ones I gave my Grandmothers were put on display. For some reason, I remember the ones I made as being too small and too thin to use as a potholder.

I don't think this puzzle is "weird" as the title states. I think it is boring.
