Nice and, somehow, appealling!
#2: Mark Conger (aruba) on Aug 29, 2005
Nice picture. I couldn't figure out what it was until the very end.

Well Judy it should remind you of a "good thing" because cranberry juice does not cause infections ... unless ...

I guess I was thinking of not liking it and not liking the reason I drink it, but you are right, it is helpful. Thanks for reminding me.

7-up makes me think of stomach aches because that's the only time I use it, so I know what you mean.

I'm not sure if grenadine was used in Cherry Cokes, but I know that it makes Tequilla Sunrises and Bahama Mamas pretty.

Try to think always positive! In your case 7-up does not cause stomach aches it cures them ...

Nice study of different forms and shapes. Also good practice for some color solving. Nice puzzle over all.

Reminds me of friends I have lost. The good times are fondly remembered. Thanks

The image is a bit confusing, but the puzzle was fun to solve.

Grenadine is from pomegranate juice, also Granada in Spain is named for pomegranates.
#17: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Feb 12, 2020
Gosh, I always thought grenadine was cherry!
#18: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Feb 12, 2020
It probably *is* fake-cherry flavor in the US. (Which has a lot of benzaldehyde in it, like almonds do - try marzipan).

In Europe, where black currants were never outlawed like in the US, the flavor is often that; in Australia, modern grenadine is often raspberry flavored.

Wikipedia suggests pomegranate syrup from Middle Eastern groceries as a substitute for real grenadine. There are also lots of recipes for real grenadine on the front google page for "grenadine".

I had never heard of the ban on black currants and I was curious, so I did a web search and found a page that said:

"The federal government had banned the growing of black and red currants in 1911 when the burgeoning logging industry put pressure on lawmakers to eliminate the currants because they were thought to be an intermediate host of white pine blister rust. New disease-resistant varieties of currants were later developed and in 1966 the government left it up to the states to lift the ban."

Interesting!
