Ah, the late, GREAT B.B. King!

He was playing in a roadhouse which was heated only by a burning barrel of kerosene set in the middle of the floor, (as was common then) when 2 drunks got in a fight, knocked over the burning barrel and set the place ablaze. Everybody fled the building, but BB realized he had forgotten his guitar, and went back in and got it. He learned that the 2 drunks were fighting over a woman named Lucille, and also that 2 people were killed in the fire. He then named his guitar (and every one he ever played since) Lucille, as a reminder to (1) never enter a burning building, and (2) never fight over a woman again.

Thanks for the history behind this. Always makes the puzzle better.
