Hm. After line logic, I solved it by the "color in a square, keep going until you find a contradiction, revert, mark the square with a dot, and repeat" method. I marked it as moderate lookahead, but that could also be deep lookahead.

That is not within the definition of either on this site. Moderate is only a couple steps - most kinds have been mapped out on the advanced logic page.
If you go beyond a couple steps, then it is deep lookahead **if the solve has been noted down**

If you mark and then revert when there's a conflict, then that's guessing because you are not using mental logic to mark a square

After LL

Deep lookahead
Extended edge logic on the 5 in c6:
If it were in r1-5, then
> The rest of that column (c6 r8-14) would be white
> which would push the 2s in r13 & 14 right
> which would make c8r12 white
= creating a conflict in that row because of not enough room for all the clues
So the 5 in c6 cannot be in the top section and c6r1-5 must be white
LL to 77%

Look at c8r15. It must be part of one of the 2s in that column. If it were to go down into r16, then:
> the rest of r16 would be white (NB: including c10)
> c8r17 would be white,
> forcing the 2 in that row into c10
= creating a conflict in c10
So c8r16 must be white instead
LL to finish
