This is an absolutely fantastic puzzle. Wonderful image, challenging solve. I did have to guess at one point, great use of single width lines.#2: Jota (jota) on May 28, 2020 classify

Grand! It reminds me of the pre-digital age, and I used to do PBN with a pencil, in Games Magazine. Home sick one week, I did a massive (100 x 80, or so) image quite similar to this. It was extremely tedious but incredibly rewarding. (Which doesn't make good sense - what's a better word than "tedious" if I worked tirelessly on it for a long time but enjoyed it?)#4: Wombat (wombatilim) on Dec 6, 2022 [HINT] classify
These notes were taken as I went, and a few of the steps here yield little if any line logic, so I'm not sure how helpful or necessary they are. However, in the end, this is indeed solvable with moderate lookahead.
R19: No matter where the remaining 2 goes, it puts blacks in R18C28-29. Then wherever the 2 in R18 goes, it forces the 3 in R17 to be in C25-27.
R25: Placing a black in R25C9 causes a contradiction in R13, so this square is white.
C35: If the 6 goes above R6, it causes a contradiction in either C32 or C33, depending on whether the blacks in R6 C24-26 are part of the 6 or part of the 5. Either way, R3-5 C35 are white.
R3: We now know that R3C26 is part of the 5. No matter where you put the rest of the 5, R4C25 is black.
R6C22: If this square is black, it causes a contradiction in C27, so it must be white.
C19: Whichever way the 2 clue goes, it makes R7C18 part of the 2 in that column, so R2-4 C18 are white.
R11: Whichever way the 8 goes, R10C4 is black.
R11C12: If this square is black, it causes a contradiction in either R10 or R12, so it must be white.
C14: Whichever way the 2 clue goes, R12 C15-16 are white.
