FYI, guys - I tried a thundershirt on my Jack Russel last night and he settled down within minutes and spent the entire hour in our laps when he usually is whining, trembling and twisting to get away from it all. The thundershirt seemed to work wonders. He wasn't relaxed, but he was subdued and not in a panic. I would recommend it for somebody with our problems. Our dog goes way under the bed to avoid the noise. She doesn't even flinch in a thunderstorm but hates fireworks. Every Canada Day, we used to go in the boat to see the fireworks. The first year we had Katy she went crazy and almost jumped out the of boat. Now we watch them from shore and she hides under the bed. This puzzle is still apropos 6 years later. I always wonder what the wild animals do. For some reason, all my friends across Long Island, NY are complaining about early fireworks this year. There was even an article in the paper. We are going through a dry spell right now.
