I'm good with Richard's guess....

line logic doesn't get you very far in this one...there may be another way to solve this, but here are the steps that I took.

use iel on the 9 clue in r18 to limit its possible range in relation to the 5 clue in r17. it can extend no further left than c5, allowing blacks to be placed in r18, c's 12 and 13...a few line logic dots.

then whether the 4 clue in r20 is to the left or right side of available space, either the 4 in c16 or the 7 in c17 is triggered(taking up the remaining 1 clue in r19). this allows for dots in r19, in all the c's except 16 and 17. also, no matter whether it's the 4 or 7 in c16 or c17, the 9 in r18 gets triggered and r18 c's 14-16 are black. a little more line logic.

then iel the 9 once more in relation to the 2's in r16...r18 c9 must be a dot. line logic finishes.

I think Locomotive Breath was the first in this series.

Thanks for the notes, Kurt! I didn't take them and was afraid I would have to go back and do it again...

yw :)
#9: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Jul 4, 2014
I don't want to say what it looks like to me...
#10: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Jul 5, 2014
ah-hahaha! dirty-minded girl... ;)
#11: Tom King (sgusa) on Jul 5, 2014 [SPOILER]
It kind of has to do with current events.
#12: Tom King (sgusa) on Jul 5, 2014
Surprised it isn't rated a little tougher... Oh well.
#13: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Jul 5, 2014
most who tried never solved it...that oughta say enough. but generally they don't rate diff if they can't solve. hell, the vast majority don't rate at all. it was a great solve, Tom!

Thanks, Kurt!

Look at the direction of the wind...
#16: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Jul 6, 2014
That's wind? It looked like a uterus & ovaries (whoops! I said it)
#17: Tom King (sgusa) on Jul 6, 2014
PG-13 is good ;)
#18: John Macdonald (perlwolf) on Jul 7, 2014 [SPOILER]
It looks like "Three Strong Winds" :-)
I guess the answer, my friends, is still just blowin' in the wind.

I may have been lucky to find where to place the 5 on the right edge (c20) was using edge logic. There are 3 places where it can be without upsetting the 3/1/1/1/1 right away, but those places quickly run into other contradictions. This also causes other things to fall out quickly.

Great solve!!! Took a while to find the starting point but once I did I got a bit of it solved. I had to work on finding the next starting point and it went smoothly from there. Really enjoyed the puzzle!!! Keep 'em coming! If you are interested in where I got started......I did all the corners till that approach was exhausted then .... in the 3rd line from the bottom I put in the 1 space and then the 9 black. It didn't work so I took out the 1 and moved the 9 blocks over till some of the 9 worked and went from there. The next time I got stuck I worked on the bottom line the same way.

I still don't know what the answer is ...
#22: CB Paul (cbpaul) on May 11, 2021 [HINT] [SPOILER]
I don't know what kind of logic this is, but: I looked for overlaps and didn't see any major, obvious ones. Then I looked at the edges and saw 7 singles and 3 singles in from each bottom corner. So I filled in each bottom corner and checked. And that was the beginning.

As for the answer... Maybe that's a profile? Maybe that's breath or words coming out of the mouth? But that mouth shape does not look like it's blowing, Laughing or smiling?

Anyhow, good solve.
#23: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on May 11, 2021 [SPOILER]
I found a 2001 song called "Blowin' Hot Air," by the Clicks.
