Fun solve, well done. I saw Alabama but wondered how you'd fit home onto it, and it fit and fit well!

Miscellaneous geography stuff: I confused Alabama and Mississippi at times since they are sort of mirror images. The way to remember is, Mississippi borders on the Mississippi River, which is to the west. (Also, the Mississippi River goes through New Orleans, so Mississippi has to border on Louisiana.)

Also, Vermont and New Hampshire. New Hampshire borders on Maine, as I remember from Stephen King's The Long Walk.
