Puzzle Description:

Ok Kim,I fully expect you or someone to get this one, though I doubt you've ever heard the song. It's another oldie but goodie, pre 70's song.

idk, is there a holes in my knees song? ;)
#2: Norma Dee (norm0908) on May 31, 2014
Holes in my confidence
Holes in the knees of my jeans
I was left without a penny in my pocket
Oo-we, I was about destituted
As a kid could be
And I wished I wore a ring
So I could hock, I’d like to hock it.

Sung by Paul Simon

Oh dear, poor Kim indeed. Thanks to Norma, I will go with Duncan by Paul Simon - sounds like the best match! Thank you, Norma!! I do like Paul Simon and live in New England - so why I am unfamiliar with this tune is beyond me! Aldege, you are putting me to shame.

Great puzzle Aldege

Sorry gang but Norma is not correct with Paul Simon. Kim if I am frustrating you with pre-70's tunes than I will try a 70's one for my next attempt to stump you. In the meantime I'll give you guys a clue. I really thought someone would of got it. Today it's cool to have holes in the knees of your pants but in the old days what would your mother do?

Thx Susan.:)

#11: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jun 1, 2014
What's not fair Norma. This should be easy now,and I bet your familiar with the song.

That's funny Kurt.:)

I was just hoping I was right, but of course I wasn't

OK gang, the song is Patches recorded by Dickey Lee in 1962. I'm sure Sensei,or Ellen will remember this great old song. I was 9 going on 10 when this came out. I got my first pocket transister radio when all these songs were playing and all my older brothers and sisters were listening to this stuff. It brings back fond memories to hear them again. Could someone please put a link up for others to hear this great song. Niki's busy with the baby and I don't want to bug her right now.:)
