Blotted clues changed by sgusa

First blotted clue puzzle that I have done. It took me a long while to embrace color (which I haven't fully). It was kind of weird.

This brings up a question, what brand of coffee are you drinking gang. I like Nabob dark roast in a drip coffee maker but can't find it here in N.B.,so I have to drink Folgers but I make it strong. Niki likes Folgers instant cause I make the drip coffee too strong for her. What is everyone else drinking? I know Kurt drinks Folgers. Oh,I like your coffee maker Sgusa.:)
#4: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on May 18, 2014
got a cup of strong Folgers at the side of my keyboard as we speak(type).... :) good memory, Al! Happy Sunday gang!
#5: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on May 18, 2014
idk, Tom....just throwing something out there, how about "tools of the trade"? for ex, make a puzz of a hose spraying water and get people to guess "firefighter". lots and lots of careers out there... or not necessarily even a tool. a stock ticker puzz to guess "stock trader". you get the idea... any image to get the solver to guess the right occupation

Community Coffee is the brand of choice in southern Louisiana. Now that we're moving to the outskirts of New Orleans, we'll probably encounter more coffee containing chicory.
#7: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on May 18, 2014
as in the blue flower that grows along the hwy? they really put that in coffee? a quick search says that they do, but that doesn't sound too appealing
#8: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on May 18, 2014
It makes for some strong, bitter coffee. That's the kind they serve at Café du Monde. I guess it's an acquired taste.
#9: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on May 18, 2014
"cafe of the earth"...makes sense

Costco Espresso Roast

I drink instant store brand decaf. I only drink one cup, so no point in making more.

Aldege have you thought about ordering online from Walmart in Canada?

Walmart Canada has EVERYTHING you need plus FREE home delivery shipping everyday on all products. Vous ne devriez pas payer pour L'Expédition sans fris. Shop for electronics, home goods, groceries and the brands you trust for less at Walmart.ca

I order a lot of heavy/bulk items like toilet paper, paper towels, cat food etc. and since I don't have a car I can take my shopping cart on the bus and shop for the rest. Might save you some gas money.

Costco's French Roast an Decaf French Roast mixed.

We drink Nabob Tradition at our house. John likes it weaker than I do and this one is a happy medium. At work I like the Nabob dark roast
#15: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on May 18, 2014
First of all,I thought chicory made coffee less bitter Kristen, but I could be wrong. Either way I'm not fussy about it.:)
Yeah Kurt I remembered you talking about relaxing with a cup of Folgers in the past. I don't mind Folgers but I have to make it real strong. I like your suggestion for Sgusa. Happy Sunday buddy.:)
Never heard of Community Coffee Kristen, sounds like it might contain a lot of backwash.JK:)
Café du Terre would be coffee of the earth Kurt.:)
Costco Expresso sounds good, but I'm not a member sgusa.:)
UMMMM that sounds good Brian.:)
Problem Norma is that we shop in Maine. It's far cheaper to drive to Walmart in Maine, than to shop at Walmart in Canada even with free delivery. It's totally against my principles to do this because it does nothing for our economy, however I have to feed my family and I'm just scraping by now.:)
Nabob Tradition is good Susan, but dark roast is even better.:)
#16: Norma Dee (norm0908) on May 18, 2014
Wow, Aldege. Are the prices that much different for the Walmarts in Canada and the Walmarts in Maine?
#17: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on May 19, 2014
Yes they are Norma,on some items they're close, but not many.We use to spend about $400.00 a week on groceries here in N.B.,but now we spend around $200.00 to $250.00 per week.:)
#18: Norma Dee (norm0908) on May 19, 2014
Must not be much competition. That would certainly make it worth the trip. Walmart had the edge on groceries for a while here, but the other big chain stores decided they wanted in on the action and started bringing down their prices.
#19: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on May 19, 2014
N, I'm betting it's a tax or a national kinda thing. Maybe some import tax levied on Walmart that they in turn pass on to the customer. Gasoline, for ex...or cigs...some things are ungodly high in one place and not another. gas in romania was the equiv of $4/liter(not gal)whereas cigarettes were $1 as opposed to $5 here. hell, it varies a lot from state to state here, for that matter...
#20: Heather M (AuntieH) on May 19, 2014
Norma, the phenomenon isn't specific to Walmart - it's pretty well true across the board. It's a combination of a number of factors, including taxes, volume (Canada doesn't have the same population base which lessens our purchasing power) and transportation costs (try shipping something to Winnipeg or Saskatoon, never mind Yellowknife or Whitehorse). Or at least that's how the economists justify it to us :)
#21: Norma Dee (norm0908) on May 19, 2014
Because of the way the population is spread out in Canada I thought that they might not deliver at all, but went on line and discovered they did and did not take time to compare prices.
#22: Tom King (sgusa) on May 20, 2014
90% of the population is within 30 miles of the border...
#23: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on May 20, 2014
^yes, they're clearly gathering for an invasion.
