Puzzle Description:

I only got one lick

#1: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on May 10, 2014 [SPOILER]

growing up, my buddy's dad woulda laughed at him and said, "too bad. you're not getting another one. you shoulda been paying better attention to it."

the same dad used to try to trip him if his hands were in his pockets(the thought process was "if your hands are in your pockets, you can't catch yourself from falling")

wow. Tough love? Or just tough?
#3: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on May 10, 2014
both, I suppose. the dad was a cop

That could explain a lot.

I'm torn on this Kurt and Norma. When I was a kid my older brothers would beat the crap out of me if I cried about anything. Niki's sons cry over everything and it drives me nuts. J-D would cry if this happened to him and he's almost 12. How old was your friend Kurt? I think at 12 yrs old you should be a bit more mature than that. Fun puzzle Norma.:)

That's kind of unusual at that age. Generally speaking, peer pressure usually teaches boys they are supposed to keep a stiff upper lip. Perhaps there were some problems in their lives before you got to know them.

prob 9 or 10 at the time. didn't meet him til 3rd grade, so had to have been at least 8 then
#8: Jota (jota) on May 11, 2014
Growing up is so difficult!
#9: Norma Dee (norm0908) on May 11, 2014
Yes, Jota. Sometimes I wonder how we do it.
#10: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on May 12, 2014
Some of us don't Norma:)
#11: Norma Dee (norm0908) on May 12, 2014
You got that right, Aldege!
#12: Heather M (AuntieH) on May 12, 2014
Good one. I'd cry too - especially if it was a really good, homemade ice cream :)
#13: Norma Dee (norm0908) on May 12, 2014
Thanks, Heather. A frustrating, hopeless feeling. I don't thing I ever lost the whole ice cream cone, but I certainly had a few scoops fall off that weren't pushed down a bit.

hope it wasn't a dairy queen cone
#15: Norma Dee (norm0908) on May 13, 2014
Dairy queen is soft and stays put.

I honestly saw a munchkin horrified by a ruby slipper with part of a leg sticking out. Not sure what that says about me but Waaahhh! certainly applies!

:)
