Puzzle Description:

Who knows - I might try to do the series! Guess the pikto!

#1: Bryan (Cyclone) on Feb 7, 2014 [HINT]

Tested in my solver - when line logic runs dry, edge logic is usable in the upper-right of the remaining area on a couple of three clues (C35 clears four squares, then C34 for a single square).

After edge logic in C34, the puzzle solves the rest of the way with line logic.

The edge logic that did it for me was with the 2 in R19. That let me dot several squares that would otherwise have messed up the 1 in R20.

Biathlon?
#4: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Feb 7, 2014
That would be my guess, also. Nice puzzle.
#5: Heather M (AuntieH) on Feb 8, 2014
Ditto Ellen and Norma.
#6: valerie o..travis (bigblue) on Feb 8, 2014
ditto ellen, norma and heather :)

Just tried with the hint in #2. That works even cleaner. Nice find. =)
#8: Jota (jota) on Feb 8, 2014
AWESOME! Thanks!
#9: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Feb 8, 2014
this is that Olympic event where you use your massive Popeye like forearms to help you cross country ski with your cello strapped to your back,to a rendezvous with the other members of your 4 member ensemble to play a concert for the Olympic judges,in order to sway their votes for your countries athletes.Nice image Bryan.:)

What's the name of this sport, Aldege. My memory seems a little fuzzy.
#11: Bryan (Cyclone) on Feb 8, 2014
Re #10, I call that "bribery". =D

Working on the next one.
#12: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Feb 8, 2014
Glad to hear that Bryan.
#13: Bryan (Cyclone) on Feb 8, 2014 [SPOILER]
New one is posted - but you'll notice I had to do the next one differently. It couldn't solve the original way without guessing, I thought.
#14: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Feb 9, 2014 [HINT]
I did edge logic on the 5s in rows 15 and 16.

If the 5 in r16 goes right past c31, then it will mess up r14, so r16c32-35 are white.

Then the same for r15. So r15c32-35 are white.

Then LL to finish.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by infrapinklizzard.
#16: merkey (merkey88) on Feb 11, 2014 [HINT]
the 2 in C31 helped eliminate a few of the blanks in C32 and C33 once LL sputtered.
#17: annalivia (annalivia) on Apr 11, 2014 [HINT] [SPOILER]
Aldege, I believe it's called "cross-bow and cello-country skiing".
#18: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Apr 11, 2014
Very good, annalivia :)
