Puzzle Description:

This is a revisit to puzzle 16141 by Spela Justin (sp3lchy). See first comment for more info.

This puzzle needed a good amount of editing to be logical. I started by removing a pawprint that I saw while importing the intended solution. I extended the first column a bit over that print's location. I then hit multiple solutions with the nose. I had to make it slightly larger and fill in the mouth (which caused another multiples spot with the side of the head).

At this point, I had it to a unique solution. I decided to remove the frills (hearts, other paw prints, some unknown markings) and put more emphasis on the decor around the dog to make it a seamless solution. After multiple tests in my own solver to find the problem areas, I narrowed down what to work on. I hope you enjoyed the result! (The dog is mostly unedited except around the head to connect it logically for solving.)

sp3lchy last visited in 2012, so no idea whether the user will ever return or see this revisit. =)

It could be better:
a/ the software doesn't allow sharing "multiple solving" puzzles
b/ someone (f.e. you) has the "official" right to repair wrong puzzles.
a+b/ the software repairs automatically mistakes.
:)

Bryan - it took me a long time to solve (with a few missteps) but the final image was worth it. Great job!

Thomas, using software to automatically repair mistakes can create an image that is not intended. Even so, while I did that, it still didn't have a clear course of solving, and that was my goal; to make it solvable. Making large-scale changes led to that.

Best picture I've seen in a LONG time! Nice job, hard puzzle!

simply wonderful. Logically solved.

I remember the original puzzle. It was very difficult. I think I restarted three times before I finally got it. This one was much easier, maybe a bit too easy for my tastes. Both puzzles capture the great Bernard dog very nicely.

awwww. I have not solved the original, but I'm sure I prefer this image without additional frills. It focuses on the main image.
