Bryan, in the early 2000s, where this type of puzzle were newer in printed materials and logic competitions,...#3: Heather M (AuntieH) on Jan 27, 2014
There was a rule, that multiple solving is FORBIDDEN! :)
So there were editor(s) to solve all puzzles before appearing, and to repair if needed. This method wasn't belonged to copyright thing, but the OBLIGATORY works for editors! :)
This method was called "dual". This is correctly the same what you mentioned, only one mistake and one point to repair. when a logic puzzle was "hardly repairable", more than one "dual", than editors said NO. Copyrights weren't any problem, because poor multiplied-solving works arrived to the trash...
Nice Puzzle Bryan!#4: Jota (jota) on Jan 29, 2014
Awesome effort.#5: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Aug 28, 2017
This one was difficult because of its length. Took an awful lot of up and down and switching the numbers from top to bottom. Not fun.
