I've been meaning to revisit this puzzle for some time as multiple solutions is something I consider unforgivable and invalid from a puzzle solving standpoint. As I'm currently solving puzzles in the 1-500 range almost exclusively (saving for new puzzles published, and solving sets where users have less than a dozen puzzles starting with one so early), I knew I had to deal with this one before leaving the area (also allowing me to remove it from my list of unsolved puzzles).

This one gave me a huge surprise in how to make it solvable. I added one red pixel. And not only is it solvable (with a unique solution), but it can also be done using line logic according to the solver. That should make it easy for any new users who didn't originally see this back at the start of the puzzle archive (due to avoiding multiple solutions, etc.) to now not only be able to see but also to make a legitimate solve attempt. I considered making the notes themselves green, but eventually decided to just leave it alone; it works as it is, and no point messing with it.

BTW, I can't give any info on the original puzzle creator; the account owning copyright to this puzzle no longer exists! I don't know if Catherine still visits, but certainly it's under a different account if she does.

Bryan, in the early 2000s, where this type of puzzle were newer in printed materials and logic competitions,...
There was a rule, that multiple solving is FORBIDDEN! :)
So there were editor(s) to solve all puzzles before appearing, and to repair if needed. This method wasn't belonged to copyright thing, but the OBLIGATORY works for editors! :)
This method was called "dual". This is correctly the same what you mentioned, only one mistake and one point to repair. when a logic puzzle was "hardly repairable", more than one "dual", than editors said NO. Copyrights weren't any problem, because poor multiplied-solving works arrived to the trash...

Awesome effort.

This one was difficult because of its length. Took an awful lot of up and down and switching the numbers from top to bottom. Not fun.
