yes she did tom lol, good for her and what does norma win (a new tv right) :)
#5: Bryan (Cyclone) on Jan 4, 2014 [HINT]
Edge logic on the top 2 was easy. It wasn't too bad, and the rest solved with line logic.
#6: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Jan 4, 2014
we are trying to do that for her trav
#7: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Jan 4, 2014
Nice one Tom. What exactly is the word on the t.v.for Norma. Do we have the info, and who all is going to chip in. If we get enough people maybe she can get a bigger one. Niki and I got our son A-J a 13" LCD years ago and it was just over a hundred dollars and it's been a great T.V.:)

#10: Sarah Andrews (sarah) on Jan 4, 2014
I know this one! It's the Handicap Parking sign outside the bar.
#11: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Jan 5, 2014
Al, she has to reinstate her pay pal account then we can contribute .... she can use that account to purchase the above stated tv that Jota suggested.
#12: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jan 5, 2014
I checked the RCA at Walmart and it gets some bad reviews. They also sell a Sceptre for $99 that gets better reviews. Also read a review after Christmas which said the Sceptre was better. I'm kind of embarrassed by all this, but finally decided it sure would be nice to have a new TV and what are friends for. I got my pay pal account straightened out. What info do you need?
#13: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Jan 5, 2014
we need to know the "who" to send it to
#14: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jan 5, 2014

#15: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Jan 5, 2014
Norma I don't know... whatever is the name on the pay pal account. I'll try Norma Dee
#16: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Jan 5, 2014

Bryan: Edge logic on the 2 in r2 cannot help at the beginning. While c2-3 can be eliminated with deep lookahead, c10-11 cannot. (the 11s could go all the way left and the 2|1 in c13-14 could go in either r8-9 or r12-13.

For moderate lookahead:

After line logic,

edge logic on the 2 in c1 makes r6 white, then LL
edge logic on the 2 in c13 makes r6 white, then LL

That's it for moderate lookahead in the top for now.
{The 2 in r2 can go in any of the three spots with moderate lookahead. (The left position can be ruled out with deep lookahead.) In r5, the 1 has to be in either c2 or 3. But it can fit in either even to a reasonable deep lookahead. The 2 can be ruled out of c13-14, but only with deep lookahead.}

Let's look at r14. Note that there are not two crossing 1s for the 2 clue to hide in, so the 2 in r13 must be above the 2 in r14.
Now look at the 3. Its current range is [c5-11]. The clues that can be above it are the 3 or the 3 and the right 2 (in r13). So with that info, edge logic rules out positions c5-7 and c6-8 (because in r13, the 3 and left 2 would get smashed together) and also position c7-9 (because there's no 1 in r13).

That leaves the 3 in r14 the range of [c8-11]. And that means that r14c9-10 must be black.

Then the bottom solves with line logic. That leaves the top.

The 2s we discussed above are still approachable, but they are also still deep lookahead. So let's try the 2 in c3. If it were in r4-5, then c3r3 and r5c2 would be white. The 11 in r3 would be blocked, so c2r3 would also be white, but that would leave no room for the 2 in c2. So the 2 in c3 cannot be in r4-5 and c3r5 is white.

Then LL finish.

I'm a bit late to this, but I hope you got your TV, Norma.
#26: Andrew Schultz (blurglecruncheon) on Jan 15, 2024 [HINT]
Helper to 57%.

If R9C13 is a dot, so is R13C13.

If R9C13 is black, R12C10 is black, making R12C13 black.

Either way the 2 in C13 can't be in R12-13.

Helper to 91%.

Now where does the 1 in R5 go? If in R10/11 there is a 1 in R2. If in C3 we elbow out the 2 in C2. So it is in C2.

Line logic.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by blurglecruncheon.
